This was one of those ~oldbob stones from the guilty little bag that went on the day trip. When I set it, I had a lot of trouble figuring out how I wanted it to go. After all, for a small stone it had a lot of pattern that could be looked at a number of ways.

After turning it this way and that for a long while, I finally settled on this orientation because it looked like a windstorm blowing over a hill. (You could also see it as ripples near a pond edge - but I liked the sandstorm analogy better.)

Nice work! I particularly like how the wrapping wire is... staggered, can we say? Tiered? It's a great accent to the ripples in the stone itself.

I think there's a few too many loops in the bail, but maybe it looks better in life-size

. (Perhaps turning them down to expand the heart?)
