Mystic Topaz is one of those trade names for clear topaz that has been coated with something (not sure what) to give it a new, different color. It can take on so many, many hues...but it's a fun stone to play with when you find some.
This one was actually not a first-quality rock. It was native-cut and it actually has a scooped-in edge along the top of the pavilion, which was quite strange. But it was a nice challenge to show that it could be made into this lovely little creation. ...................... We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
